On Monday 4th June Bramham lit the Jubilee Beacon. Bramham was one of over 4000 Beacons that were listed across the UK. Nick Lane Fox from Bramham Park kindly let us use the field off Windmill Road and provided some wood etc. Also with kind donations from Wetherby Skip Hire, Pete Walton Roofing contractors and Mike Rhodes the bonfire grew and grew. Mike also helped us to build the bonfire and the Gala team spent a long time setting everything up for the day. A bar be que and bar was on hand to provide refreshments and live music from Robyn Henderson entertained everyone.
At the designated time of 10.26pm the fire was lit by Nick Lane Fox and the fireworks were set off. The fire could be seen for miles and miles. Over 300 people came to see it who came not only from Bramham but villages all around who had heard all about it.
